Neon Flash Dance / Jason Rhoades Tribute

This is my Undergraduate showreel. It consists of 2D animation, 3D animation, Editing and Rotoscoping. I graduate summer 2015 from Ba (Hons) Animation, Northumbria University. I really enjoy creating abstract work to music. In the future I want to develop my rotoscoping skills further and apply this skill in a vfx / Matte / live action compositing environment.

This is my final undergraduate  animated  film. It is an abstract animation to show hidden or unseen beauty in movement.  The main inspiration for this piece is early multi flash photography created and invented by Harold Edgerton [1937].

This piece has been selected as an offical submission into the Visions6 Film Festival in America.

This project was inspired by the installation artist Jason Rhoades who used neon lights in his work and also admitted a typical male interest in fast cars and women. This represents his admiration for the female form in neon.

Throughout my time at university I was encouraged to keep blogs for each project. Although some of this work is much older and more primitive I  continue to enjoy looking back on my past learning curves to further develop my skills in the future.
